Zoo –Phonics is a kinesthetic method for teaching phonics, reading and spelling, using literature. Zoo-Phonics teaches the alphabet (the foundation of the reading and writing process) through a developmentally appropriate method using a cast of animal characters. The method teaches children to lock the shapes and sounds of the alphabet into memory through a body movement that directly r elates to the Animal/Letter, allowing them to utilize the alphabet immediately. Children as young as 12 months can do Zoo-phonics! Zoo-phonics is a systematic, explicit, multi-modal approach that focuses all the energy of children on learning the shapes and sounds of the alphabet and phonemes, ensuring reading and spelling success. Your child will wiggle and giggle while learning his/her a, b, c ’s at Little Wonders. Your child will be able to indentify all the letters and sounds of the alphabet before entering kindergarten. Your child may even be sounding out words and spelling before you know it!
